Is it safe to travel to Nicaragua?

The United Nations placed Nicaragua as the second safest country in Latin America, behind Uruguay. As every other country in the world, there is always some risks, mostly petty thieves in urban centers.

On the beaches, like everywhere, it is important to have some common sense of responsability and prevent any situation that could put you at risk. Try not to walk into dark places and try not to leave your belongings unattended nor at everybody´s sight.
